Track 23 – I Weep in Smiles . . . Just at the Thought of You

$0.99

As a lifetime Navy man, my Uncle Pete served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a kind and gracious man who was never the same person after World War II. I asked him once why he drank every day, and he pointed to his Navy uniform in the closet and said: “That’s to remember!” Then he pointed at his bottle of liquor on the coffee table and said: “That’s to forget!”. He had many friends in his lifetime, but the “friend” he relied on the most, when he really needed one . . . was his bottle of liquor. To Pete, and to all of those who served and were forever changed . . . may they somehow find friendship . . in people . . . instead of in a bottle.
