Sometimes . . . Life Just Feels Too Light (2:48)
Without warning winged the wild bird;
As she breaks . . . into . . . and over . . . the sky.
Like the first moment of a great thought . . . she moves with beating wings;
Into . . . and over . . . the page . . . like a poem.
And in that measured moment when the wingspan met the wind . . .
I . . . have known . . . God.
And you know . . . there are just times . . . when Life just feels too light.
From the corner of my eye . . . I see your clay beside our kiln;
Your coffee cup still dusty there in its spot upon the sill.
And I know that death is but the terrible weight of your absence . . . and
When I’ve learned not to feel that weight, a memory pulls it upon my back again.
And you know . . . there are just times . . . when Life just feels too light.
I am a barge longing for cargo;
And there are times when Life just feels too light.
