Track 14 – Sliding on Icewalks

$0.99

On the evening of January 17th, 1970, Barb and I met for the first time on a blind date, and God sent down a most beautiful, soft, quiet, and peaceful snowfall. When I was walking her back to her dorm, we slid on the snowy sidewalks and had a lot of fun talking and laughing together. After I walked her home, I breathed on the window of her dorm room and wrote “Hello” on it with a smiley face, so that she would see it when she breathed on it.

On my walk back home, a full moon peaked from the clouds and the night poured out its bag of stars. I spun in circles, filled with “Happy”, wishing for more fresh snow and the gift of a song about her to carry me home.

When I got back to my dorm, I wrote this song because I wanted to always remember that first night of “sliding on icewalks, listening to mind-talks . . . just living . . . and laughing with ourselves.

Description

Sliding on Icewalks (1:58)

the first time that i ever saw her . . . she smiled

like sunshine and freshness after a snow

her breath-cold melted in winter air

(and) we slid on ice-walks . . . listening to mind-talks . . .

living

and laughing with ourselves

sliding on ice-walks . . . listening to mind-talks . . .

living

and laughing with ourselves

hello” written on a breath-fogged window

the evening grinned like only “we” were alive for that moment

the eye-glance . . . the stillness . . . the rush inside

O how we glide

we slid in search and paused in wonder

then the evening went on . . . and we went on

sliding on ice-walks . . . listening to mind-talks . . .

living

and laughing with ourselves

sliding on ice-walks . . . listening to mind-talks . . .

living

and laughing with ourselves
