Track 03 – Born to be “Eaches”

$0.99

In 1969, while I was a 19-year-old sophmore at Purdue, I wrote the poem Born to be “Eaches” about a relationship that was more of a wish, an illusion, than something real. When we were young, sometimes we really believed that we were in love, but instead, we were actually in love with the “want” to be in love; the thought of being in love. It is hard to make “One” from “Two”, and, most of the time, “both of our ‘Eaches’ are bigger than ‘We’”.

Everybody, it seems, has a relationship where they try so hard to become “One” that they lose sight of the fact that the “Two” individuals were better people apart than they were as “One”.  Like most of those kinds of relationships, this song is short.

Description

Born To Be “Eaches” (0:53)

Born to be “Eaches” . . . “We” grew to “Together”;

And chose to be “Oneless” . . . to live with our “Bothness”.

But “Eachness” is . . . “Double” . . . what “Bothness” can be;

And “Both” of our “Eaches” were bigger than “We”.
